Churchlands Community Services provide 40,000 meals to the local community each year. The primary focus of this ministry is the Café, which meets on a Wednesday. Three course meals are served from 11.00am – 12.30pm to 150 people on a weekly basis. Community Services also facilitates school and seasonal outreaches, and assists other churches with their programs. This outreach is now a thriving mid week church service.
Our messages on these days are very relevant to our clientele, shared in a friendly supportive environment. The Wednesday Church Service provides prayer support, counselling and practical assistance through our Food Line which provides groceries to many more. The Food Line is supplied through our relationship with the Woolworths Fresh Food Rescue program which enables us to pick up fresh fruit and vegetables from six Woolworths stores, six days a week. This produce is not only supplied to our own clients but to some 90,000 people per year through our network of 17 partners (other churches, schools and other support groups)
Community Services also provides hampers to school chaplains to support needy families.
Churchlands Community Services Inc. is a self-funded organisation and donations are tax deductible.
Volunteers are the backbone of Community Services and there are ample opportunities for you to demonstrate the Love of Christ in this vibrant ministry.
